Prophet (peace be upon him) said, “Every Muslim must give charity.” Some people asked, “What if he has no money?” He replied, “He should work with his hands, and meet his needs as well as give charity to others.” They asked, “What if he could not, or did not, do that?” He replied, “Then he should assist a needy person in distress.” They asked, “What if he could not do that as well?” He replied, “He should then teach good things. They again asked, “And, if he could not do even that?” He replied, “Then, he should refrain from harming anyone. That, too, be a charity on his part.” [Bukhari & Muslim]

A world-class interactive encyclopedia on the political history of Pakistan
by Jin Technologies Private Limited

On the Golden Jubilee Anniversary of Pakistan, Jin Technologies Private Limited launched an interactive encyclopedia on the political history of Pakistan entitled, ‘Story of Pakistan: A Multimedia Journey’. It went on to be a bestseller from Pakistan, selling over 100,000 copies within four years.

Now comes the 2003 power packed version, thoroughly updated by the bright, young media professionals of Jin Technologies. The new CD-ROM has more than double the content of its precursor and also features some charming new graphics, an inspiring 3D intro, new historic videos, an updated Storybook, and a new Land & People section with the latest facts and figures about Pakistan. The new version presents the history of the sub-continent and the political evolution of Pakistan in a compellingly interesting and entertaining fashion. The new version also contains a clever and useful new feature. Each article has a ‘Discuss’ button that allows the viewer to become an active participant in the community of viewers by participating in any of the discussions hosted on the Story of Pakistan website at www.storyofpakistan.com.

Starting off from prehistoric times and continuing up to the present, the CD-ROM is an exhilarating presentation, a virtual powerhouse of information about the history of Pakistan. Six years of effort in technical design, visual design, and extensive, in-depth research from our dedicated scholars has gone into the production of this high quality profile of Pakistan.

The main menu of this multimedia presentation consists of the Storybook with over 45 minutes of self-narrative interactive documentary; the Timeline containing nearly 600 screens, 600 maps and photographs, and 50 videos; and Land & People covering geographical location, climate, economic indicators, demography and culture. A slider at the bottom also serves as a hot link to any era on the Timeline and a button will take you to the home page of the Story of Pakistan website.

The content of the CD-ROM covers a wide spectrum of topics such as history, politics, economics, agriculture, industry, culture, and climate. Because the presentation is highly interactive a viewer can easily move from one topic to another, or just sit back, relax and be absorbed in the beautiful pictures and compelling audio narrative in the Storybook.

There is no better ambassador for Pakistan than this elegant multimedia presentation from Jin Technology. It makes a great gift for government officials, opinion leaders, educational institutions, international agencies, and other organizations. It’s a wonderful way to spread the word about Pakistan¹s wealth of potential resources and to present a positive point-of-view on events affecting our history.

With over 24 hours of total viewing and reading time any student of history or anyone staying abroad in Europe or America will find the Story of Pakistan 2003 an instant, and invaluable asset.
