Sohni Dharti Allah Rakkhey
On March 23, 1940 the Muslims of the subcontinent resolved to establish
Pakistan. But the path to independence and separate nationhood was
strewn with a multiplying myriad of problems. What was true then
is also true today. Is there a role specially cut out for Pakistani
Americans to help the country tide over its pressing problems, its
multiplying set of challenges?
Pakistan Movement And The Challenge Today
On the Pakistan Day, every year Pakistanis commemorate the Pakistan
Resolution. However, at this critical juncture of our checkered
history, we must pause to assess our achievements and reflect on
the missed opportunities dispassionately. Pakistan was a milestone
in the Pakistan movement, but the struggle continues until its ideals
are achieved for all Pakistanis.
