Pakistan One Family at a Time
Assalamu Alaikum!
Azadi Mubarak! Pakistan came into being 57 years
ago on August 14, 1947. Some people gave this baby only couple of years to survive.
It went through a lot. It is still struggling to be a just and a brighter society.
Millions of Pakistanis and thousands of foundations and trusts are keeping the
dream of Pakistan alive.
There are only about a million Pakistanis still
alive who saw the Pakistan movement. These are people who are leaving this world
thousands by the day. Pretty soon there will be no eyewitnesses left who saw
Pakistan's birth. Let's record their oral histories. This independence day,
let's make a pledge of collecting stories about those who created Pakistan.
It is also the third birthday of YesPakistan.com.
Human Development Foundation (HDF) has visionaries who saw that unless we develop
a positive attitude towards Pakistan, our work will not go very far. On August
14th, 2001 HDF launched YesPakistan.com as a portal for Pak-Americans who want
to rally to the support of average Pakistanis on the model of helping people
help themselves. Today, thank you your support, HDF is the leading organization
which is working to transform Pakistan one village at a time.
Thank you for your support.

Women's Role in Pakistan Movement
The Muslim women of the subcontinent had never participated in such
great numbers in a political movement prior to the Pakistan Movement. It was
a befitting culmination of the reformist movements of the late nineteenth century
for the emancipation and education of Muslim women. [read
