Why was PAN launched?

The Pakistan Alert Network (PAN) is a non-profit, non-partisan, grassroots membership organization. PAN was established to promote the social, political, economic, and cultural interests of Pakistanis residing overseas, as well as to portray a positive image of Pakistan to the world.

We believe a great number of problems within our community and misconceptions of Pakistanis in other communities, are most often due to:

• lack of optimism for Pakistan on the part of us Pakistani; or
• lack of thorough knowledge on our part, of the laws and cultural values of Pakistan and the land in which we may be residing; or
• reluctance on the part of Pakistanis to articulate their case; or
• lack of motivation to make positive contributions to Pakistan and to our communities abroad.

In order to address these problems and to develop solutions, PAN is hoped to provide you an opportunity and a network for greater awareness about the positive efforts, activism, and events of Pakistani community in North America.

What is PAN's Mission?

• We are dedicated to spearheading a drive for positive action and to motivating the Pakistani masses to contribute their time, efforts, skills, and ideas to the well-being of Pakistan.
• Our aim is to highlight & promote the contributions of Pakistanis in the field of social work, politics, technological progress, human development, healthcare, relief work, Islamic movement, economics, and more!
• We hope to help all the Pakistanis realize the true purpose of the creation of Pakistan and their responsibility as a Muslim and as a Pakistani towards their Land.

PAN's mission, in a nutshell, is to empower the Pakistani community in North America through the intellectual, political, and social activism.

How does PAN plan to carry out its Mission?

Our plan is to implement our mission, with the help of action-oriented and optimistic Pakistanis like you, in the following ways:

Media Watch:
We work with media professionals around North America to help shape a positive image of Pakistan, its culture and its people. PAN activists also monitor the local, national and international media to challenge negative stereotypes of Pakistan and the Pakistanis.

Publications:
Various publications addressing the needs of Pakistanis in North America are presented to opinion leaders and the public. Our newsletter will also help us accomplish this task, in the near future.

Action Alerts:
PAN will also issue action alerts to local Pakistani communities as a means of promoting local activitism and generating a grassroots response on important issues. We believe local response is a key factor in bringing about a change at any level!

In our mission to promote optimism and activism for Pakistan, we need your help, time, skills, support, ideas, and volunteer work. Your volunteer work and any sort of contribution in the field of writing, reporting, and literature to increase the awareness of issues related to Pakistan, can make a great difference!
