Let not any people scoff at another people...neither let women scoff at women; neither reviles one another by nicknames; and do not spy, neither backbite one another; would any of you like to eat the flesh of his brother dead? Quran 49:10.

21 October, 2005—Racing Against Time

Even with relief efforts at maximum capacity, millions of people across Pakistan remain homeless. And now, on top of the challenges presented by the widespread destruction caused by the earthquake, winter has arrived—which means rain is turning to sleet and snow and temperatures that are plummeting below freezing.

HDF teams on the ground in Pakistan have been working around the clock—supplying essentials such as food, water and medicine to earthquake survivors. HDF’s experience in working in the remotest regions of Pakistan has allowed us to reach out to those areas where aid has been slow to come.

Already, HDF North America has shipped over $100,000 worth of blankets, tents and medical supplies to Pakistan, with more on the way. The challenge is not procuring tents as much as finding a timely, efficient delivery system to get the tents to the places in Pakistan they are needed most. HDF is using a combination of land, sea and air transportation to disburse these desperately-needed supplies.

But, we can’t do it alone.

There has been a massive outpouring of support, but the need is very great. Click here to donate to this effort. With delivery costs factored in, a tent costs approximately $150.00 to be supplied directly to Pakistan. With millions homeless and winter weather on the horizon, many more tents are needed. Please show your support today!

This page will be updated as soon as we get the next report (and photos) from Pakistan.
